PDO 4-0 VIOLET 1X27" FS-2 is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable monofilament suture designed for general soft tissue approximation and ligation. Constructed from polydioxanone, the suture provides smooth passage through tissue while minimizing tissue reactivity. It is dyed violet for clear visibility during procedures and is supplied with a single reverse-cutting FS-2 needle, measuring 19 mm in length and configured in a 3/8 circle, facilitating precise placement in soft tissue.

The suture retains substantial tensile strength over time, maintaining 80–90% at 14 days, 60–82% at 28 days, and 47–79% at 42 days. Complete absorption occurs between 180 and 220 days, making it suitable for wounds that require extended support during the healing process. Its monofilament structure reduces bacterial colonization and promotes consistent wound approximation, supporting optimal healing outcomes.

PDO 4-0 is uncoated and designed for single-patient use. The 27-inch length provides sufficient material for a variety of general surgical applications. Its twelve-strand configuration enhances strength and handling, while the stainless steel needle ensures reliable penetration and accurate tissue engagement. The suture is not intended for cardiovascular, neurological, ophthalmic, or microsurgical procedures.
