Description

The Introcan Safety IV Catheter, Straight Hub, FEP, 16G x 1-1/4", is a peripheral intravenous catheter designed to support vascular access procedures. It features a fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) catheter construction that provides firmer support for arterial access. The straight hub design and color-coded hub facilitate handling and rapid identification of the appropriate catheter size. 

The catheter incorporates a passive safety shield designed to automatically cover the needle tip when the needle is withdrawn. This mechanism operates without requiring separate user activation, helping reduce the risk of accidental needlestick injuries during catheter placement and needle removal. The integrated safety feature supports safer sharps handling in clinical environments and helps protect healthcare personnel from inadvertent needle exposure.

The universal bevel needle features a distinctive back-cut design intended to create a tricuspid incision during insertion. This design supports smooth catheter entry and accommodates a range of insertion angles for deep and superficial vascular access. Double Flashback technology provides two visual confirmation points: needle flashback indicates needle entry into the vessel, while catheter flashback helps confirm catheter placement within the vein.
